REIKI is a Japanese word representing the underlying force behind every living being. It is this essential energy that supports all life, therefore in the broadest translation of the word Reiki means life itself.
REIKI also refers to a method of healing in which this energy is accessed at a high vibrational frequency which can then penetrate to a deep cellular level. When this energy is flowing, balance is achieved through the mind and body becoming relaxed, allowing the organs and body systems to revitalize. This accelerates the body’s healing ability and opens the mind to the underlying causes of disease and pain thus providing support and balance in life, not only on a physical level but emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
REIKI is a non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing. It complements any type of healing whether it be orthodox as in modern medicine or natural therapies such as herbal medicine, homeopathy or nutritional therapy.
It is one of the few healing methods you can successfully use on yourself, and with daily practice allows you to take responsibility for your own health and ultimate well-being.
REIKI is not a belief system or religion. It works solely on an energy level and can be practised by anyone regardless of previous experience or age. It is also extremely effective on animals and plants.
REIKI is an ancient healing art rediscovered in the late 1800’s by a Japanese scholar, Dr Mikao Usui, after undertaking an extensive study of the healing phenomena of history’s greatest spiritual leaders. He dedicated the rest of his life to the practice and teaching of this method which he named Reiki.
REIKI JIN KEI DO includes ancient teachings & healing methods. It was named by the current Lineage Head, Dr Ranga Premaratna. He holds a Doctorate in Microbiology and is a research scientist with a passion for spirituality, meditation and healing. Reiki Jin Kei Do emphasizes the practice of Reiki with meditation to really sense the flow of energy and open the heart with compassion.
Buddho~EnerSense, is a complete health promoting system combining ancient meditation healing methods. This system promotes health by enhancing the natural ability of the body to heal thereby preventing susceptibility to disease. It helps to develop a calm mind with the powerful penetrative ability to see the processes that occur continually in the mind-body system.
The original name of the method is BUDDHO, which in the context of this system means “the energy of enlightenment,” or “the seed of enlightenment.” Just as a seed placed in the soil, watered, fertilised, protected and nurtured will grow into a healthy plant, so the seed of enlightenment is nourished by the Buddho System through a gradual realization of our energetic potential.
Dr Ranga Premaratna has given this system the alternative name of ENERSENSE made from the words Energy, Sensation, and Sense because it brings into focus the essence of the teachings and provides a neutral definition. It is not a religion or a belief system but a form of vibrational healing.
Energy empowerments or activations are given to raise the vibrational energy to higher states and enhance awareness of the subtle energy flow (or Chi) in the body. Perception of sensory stimuli is further developed during the practice of special meditations and ChiNadi exercises by focusing attention on physical, mental and emotional sensations and feelings accompanying the flow of energy.
There are significant direct links between The Buddho System of Healing and Reiki to state that Reiki is a subsequent simplification of this system which evolved as a practical self-healing technique anyone could practise without extensive experience in meditation. The origins of Reiki may also be recognized in other meditation and healing forms -
EnerSense may not be the only one.
Seiji Takamori was born in Japan around 1907. He was ordained as a Zen monk when he was 19. He received his training in a remote monastery under a Zen monk named Takeuchi.
Takeuchi had learned this method from a man called Hayashi, a Reiki Master, and so Takeuchi agreed for Seiji to become his pupil and passed on his skills as a Reiki Master.
Seiji was given attunements and asked to work on himself. Then he was taught how to treat another person in a seated position focusing on the chakras.
His proficiency was frequently tested by Takeuchi. When he reached a further stage in his development, further attunements were given and after a lengthy training he became a Reiki Master.
One of the gifts of this training was a special mediation that had been passed on by Mikao Usuito Hayashi, and from Hayashi to Takeuchi. It was called Buddho meditation, and Seiji was told that Mikao Usui had practised this technique during his retreat on Mount Kurama where he received his empowerment. It was extremely powerful.
Seiji began to feel that there was more to Reiki than his teacher knew. Increasingly he was convinced of the presence of some hidden truth and set out to find it. He felt in his heart that this meditation was connected to Reiki. He began to seek for another teacher who could help him in his path to enlightenment and so he prepared for the longest journey of his life.
He travelled first to India where he lived in temples and ashrams, studied sanskrit, Pal and Hindi, as well as Tibetan. After many years of travelling and studying he finally met a lineage of monks who recognised the Buddho meditation symbols as well as some of the Reiki symbols as being part of their ancient healing system. Seiji Takamori studied with a senior monk here for many years.
The original Buddho method of healing that had been brought by a few lamas to this remote Himalayan region from Tibet had evolved into a highly developed system of healing and meditation.
After many years it became clear that Seiji's goal was to develop the healing method he had learnt and give assistance and teaching to whoever needed it. Therefore he finally left the monks to share the knowledge around the world.
Later in life, after some years spent in the United States, Seiji travelled again to Asia studying Theravada Buddhism and Vipassana meditation in Thailand and Burma.
The advantage of Jin Kei Do Reiki is that it connects you to the teachings before and beyond Japanese Reiki; truly connecting to sanskrit origins, mantras, yantras, symbols and meditation.
ReplyDeleteEventually with the tools of Reiki and Buddho you develop your mind to a point where the symbols and all other tools can be left behind. This is what the goal should be: to be free of technique - BEING Reiki, rather than doing Reiki. You rely on your own mind which has merged with the universal.
